UNIZIK PWDs Lament Unpaid Four-Year Salaries, Seek Tinubu’s Intervention

The physically challenged staff of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, under the banner of the Association of UNIZIK Staff with Disabilities, have bemoaned their unpaid salaries since 2020.

The salary issues have been attributed to their inability to be incorporated into the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), a technology platform to pay government workers.

The group lamented that despite many complaints and visits to the office of the Accountant-General of the Federation in Abuja, the Office of SSA on Disability Matters to the President, and the National Commission for People with Disabilities, no real attempts had been made to help them.

The group, therefore, urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other relevant agencies to intervene in their plight and help them remove the bureaucratic obstacles.
