Suspected Masterminds of Owo Church Attack Arrested

The Chief Defence staff, General Lucky Irabor says the masterminds of the Owo Catholic Church attack have been arrested.

General Irabor listed the masterminds of the attack as Idris Omeiza and Jimoh Ibrahim.

He was speaking to editors and media executives on Tuesday at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

The Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu confirmed that five suspects have been arrested.

He announced the arrest of Idris Omeiza, aka Ibn Malik on 4 August, alongside his suspected accomplices Momoh Abubakar, Aliyiu Itopa, and Auwal Onimisi.

The owner of the house where they lodged was also arrested.

The Owo Church massacre on 5 June left no fewer than 30 dead and the entire nation in mourning.

The Federal Government disclosed four days after, that the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) was responsible for the attack.
