United States Vice President Kamala Harris is gaining support from various Democratic Party members to secure her party’s nomination before the November 5 Presidential Election.

Her campaign spokesperson, Lauren Hitt, said Harris raised $49.6 million in online donations in her first six hours as a 2024 presidential contender, a significant victory demonstrating popular support for a change in the Democratic ticket.

ActBlue, a website that processes Democratic donations, referred to it as "the biggest fundraising day of the 2024 cycle."

In the meantime, Harris has secured the backing of many Democrats who were first perceived as possible opponents.

She has endorsements from over 30 Democratic Senators, 80 House members, and several governors, including potential vice president contenders like Beshear, Cooper, Newsom, and Shapiro.

In addition, she is supported by various political factions, including the Congressional Black, Hispanic, and Progressive Caucus.

Harris is also supported by the labor unions Service Employees International Union and the American Federation of Teachers.

Several state delegations from Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina have announced their support for her at the upcoming Democratic National Convention.

Support for the vice president spanned the party's ideological spectrum, from moderate populists like Ohio Senator, Sherrod Brown to progressives like Massachusetts Senator, Elizabeth Warren, and New York Representative, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

On Monday morning, Harris received the endorsement of second and third-ranking House Democrats, Representatives Katherine Clark of Massachusetts and Pete Aguilar of California.
