The Federal Ministry of Works has begun repairs on the Apongbon section of the Eko Bridge in Lagos.
The bridge was damaged in an inferno on 24 March and was closed by the government to prevent a collapse.
The engineers working on the bridge are starting with the reinforcement of the pillars of the bridge.
They will work on the other parts when the pillars are done.
Eko Bridge is one of the three bridges that link Lagos Mainland and the Island.
It was built in 1975 as a relief to the Carter Bridge.
