The Central Bank of Nigeria has once again encouraged Nigerians to deposit their old naira notes in exchange for the redesigned ones.
The call was made on Thursday morning during a public sensitization at the Wuse Market, Abuja.
In his address, a manager with the Corporate Communications Department, Muhammed Muhammed said the redesigning of the new naira notes aimed at curtailing cash hoarding that has negatively affected the Nigerian economy.
He, therefore, urged traders and customers without bank accounts to walk into any commercial banks, open an account, and deposit their old naira notes before the deadline of January 31.
