APC Increases Senate Seats to 60

The ruling All Progressives Congress won three more Senate seats in Saturday’s supplementary elections to increase its number of seats in the 10th Senate to 60.

The APC won in Sokoto Central, Yobe South, and Plateau Central Senatorial Districts.

Senator Aliyu Wamakko polled 141,468 votes in Sokoto Central to defeat his close rival and deputy governor, Mannir Daniya, who scored 118,445 votes.

Senator Ibrahim Bomai gave the APC victory in Yobe South, after polling 69,596 votes to defeat Halilu Mazagane of the PDP, who got 68,885 votes.

And Diket Plang was declared the winner of the Plateau Central Senatorial District.

The Peoples Democratic Party won three additional senatorial seats in Sokoto South, Kebbi North, and Zamfara Central on Saturday to increase the number of senators it will have in the 10th Assembly to 32.

Governor Aminu Tambuwal won in Sokoto South, Senator Yahaya Abdullahi won in Kebbi North, and Ikra Bilbis won his election in Zamfara Central.
