The Anambra State Police command has denied the reports that gunmen attacked the home of Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Friday.

Some online media had reported that the governor’s house in Isuofia town was invaded, and police officers in the area attacked.

The spokesman of the State Police Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, however, confirmed to Nigeria Info that the only attack recorded in Aguata Local Government Area, where Isuofia is located, took place at a police observation point along Ekwulobia expressway.

He said gunmen came late on Thursday but were repelled by the mobile police personnel on duty.

Three of the officers sustained gunshot injury wounds, according to DSP Ikenga.

The latest attack happened barely 48 hours after four police officers were shot dead at the Atani Divisional Police Divisional Headquarters.
