$100 bills printed in 2021 are exchanged for N840 while the ones printed earlier are sold for about N790.
A $1 bill is exchanged for N600 at the black market.
The variation could be linked to a widely circulated but false report claiming the US government would stop accepting dollar bills printed earlier than 2021 from 31 January 2023.
A fact check shows the American government has no such plans.
