The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has stated that ongoing repairs to the damaged transmission line that caused a blackout in northern Nigeria will be finished by November 3.

TCN's managing director (MD), Sule Abdulaziz, disclosed during a press event in Abuja on Tuesday that alternate procedures have been devised to transmit 400 megawatts to certain areas within the next 24 hours.

Nonetheless, he stated that significant power would be restored on Sunday following the completion of repairs on the Ugwuaji–Apir transmission lines.

The MD reassured that the northern region's electricity restoration activities are proceeding as planned, adding that President Bola Tinubu has ordered TCN to speed up repairs and asked national security adviser Nuhu Ribadu to offer security assistance.

In addition, the MD stated that TCN had sent engineers to finish the restoration and that by Sunday, 500–600 megawatts will be distributed to the northern area.
