Daniel Ojukwu, the detained journalist with the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) is now a free man.
The FIJ confirmed his freedom on its website last Friday, marking the end of his nine-day detainment.
Ojukwu had been reported missing since Wednesday, May 1, prompting concern from his colleagues, family, and friends.
It was eventually discovered that he was being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti in Lagos., where authorities accused him of violating the 2015 Cybercrime Act.
Subsequently, he was transferred to the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja by the Intelligence Response Team of the Inspector General of Police.
