Media organizations can now access single-digit interest-rate financing from the Bank of Industry, according to the federal government.
The minister of information and national orientation stated as much during his speech at the Sectoral News Conference Series in Abuja on Tuesday.
“We are creating an enabling environment for all players and stakeholders in the media and information ecosystem to thrive," Mohammed Idris said.
“One commendable step is the directive by Mr. President to the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, through the Bank of Industry (BOI), to extend its single-digit interest-rate financing to media organisations.
“It is incumbent upon media practitioners to develop bankable proposals to access this financing facility being offered by the federal government, and I hope the media will take advantage of this opportunity."
The press conference, according to Idris, is in keeping with President Tinubu's intention to completely answer to Nigerians and not focus on 'hoopla' after his first year in office.
He continued by saying that part of the accountability is showcasing the accomplishments listed in the federal government's Renewed Hope Agenda.
